They announced red alarm because of really strong wind (Burja) in our area so all the schools have been closed for three days now. I suppose people spent their time at home but Ram and I were moving to a new one. We found a bigger and better flat (we've been living in quite a dump for the last 11 months) and it was the beginning of the month so we had to move quickly. It's been two really hard working days (I was asking myself all the time where all the stuff came from) but yesterday we spend our first night here. We're still have tons of unpacking to do but I already feel a bit "at home" (It will be easier to wait here until our house will be renewed).

The first neighbor we saw was this big cat staring outside the window a bit grumpily. :)

At the end of 2011 I received a great surprise from Nina, a wonderful artist and blogger. She kindly send me her wonderful print and zine and I haven't thank her here yet so today is the perfect day to do it. :) At first I wanted to postpone this post and show you her beautiful print when my boyfriend and I would move in to our new home (I imagined to post her print with houses and write something like "we're home" or something similar) but I couldn't wait since this will not happen over night. So... thank you Nina! (I am looking forward to see her new works, don't you?)

My dear and I spent this cold afternoon working really hard in our future house. This project got bigger than we expected when we decided to do it and things are progressing slower and on grander scale than we thought at first. But I can't help myself not to dream about every little detail of interior even if we are still surrounded with concrete and dust. :)

I visited mosaic school in Spilimbergo, Italy today and was amazed by what I saw. So many great mosaics that it makes your head spin. Thousands of little stone pieces, so many colors, creative solutions... all from under the hardworking and patient hands of students and their mentors.

The tradition continues... Camilla's (oh how I love her work!) calendar for 2012 arrived yesterday and it's beautiful as ever. She posted her free printable Christmas tags today and arranged a book about Morran "The Morran book project" which you probably already know or you have even ordered already. On a day like today, when nothing is quite right a sweet parcel from far far away made me smile. Maria generously surprised me with a current issue of a beautiful Frankie magazine (which I always admire online) and other charming goodies like her lovely photos. Her parcel worked like a big warm hug (thank you again!).

Hanna's annual Joulukalenteri is another thing that makes me happy today... but I still can't believe it's December already. Maybe because it's so warm here or because I've been too busy to notice...

Roasted chestnuts are one of the best things about autumn for me. In Slovenia we have the heat wave with temperatures up to seven degrees higher than normal during this period. My friends and I tried to escape the heat by travelling up north and higher to the mountains yesterday but we didn't quite succed (well only a little bit). We had a wonderful day nonetheless. :)

Venice all day yesterday. My friends and I went to see the 54th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale which left us quite cold even though the weather was hot as hell. We haven't however saw everything because we ran out of time and the A+A gallery where my former sculpture professor Mirko Bratuša represents our country was unfortunately already closed by the time we found it. Nevertheless we had a wonderful time but today all I can do is rest (we were on our feet most of the day). Art is hard (.!?) :)

I spent my Saturday in Ljubljana mostly walking around the city seeing exhibitions (also an opening exhibition of my friends in which Ram participated with sound installation), bookstores (bought none but put more of them on my wishlist :)) and conversing about all sorts of things.with my friends. It was also nice to meet Saša (who just came back home from Sweden) and overwhelmed her with questions about Camilla's workshop in which she took part in. Sweet sweet day...

Lately I am busy as a bee but it feels good. I start my days very early, go for a morning walk, finishing illustrations for one children book, spend afternoons with my little nephew and then usually stay in my studio till late hours. It's a bit stresfull but also very good for me since I wasn't as disciplined like this for a long time. I've noticed years ago that I am more productive and organised if I have plenty to do. Today I finally graduated in Department of Fine arts education in Ljubljana and I am now officially a professor of fine art. :) My diploma thesis is dedicated to the Artist’s book, which represents the main theme of all three parts of the thesis: the theoretical, the practical and the pedagogical. The practical part of the thesis introduces my project, my Moleskine book or the Mole’s skin. Throughout the presentation and the analysis of the work, I try to outline my personal views, references and conclusions. Here are some pages from my book.

I am very glad this is finally behind me although I have not fully grasped it.
However, today I celebrate. :)

I can't tell you how much it meant for me to see this exhibition. I've been admiring Camilla's and Ana's work for years and it was so fantastic and a bit surreal to finally see it in person. The exhibition is so beautiful, so delicately presented, there are so many details and you can really feel the personal touch of both artists. Little piece of heaven if I may say so. :)

Yesterday I visited the home of my friend's friend who lives in an old bourgeois apartment. I was inspired by high ceilings, large windows and the atmosphere in the home. The fact that it used to be a home of very important contemporary poet is making it even more special.

One of the things that kept me busy was our decision to rent a small place and live together right away. Ram and I are (as you already know) renovating one part of an old house and it turned out we will need more time as we thought to rebuild and fix everything. We were very lucky to find a small flatlet near our future house and my studio. Although it's in a quite shabby condition, old and tiny weare so happy to live together again! We removed all the ugly furniture we could and brought in ours. There are still many things to be made but it's slowly becoming our home. Wiiii. :)

Saw many fantastic works of art made by children today while I went to a kindergarten with my friend to pick up her kids. Many snowmen and penguins and lots of blue color. I wish I'd know how to paint like that... marvelous!
